Modeling of doubly fed induction generator based wind energy conversion system and speed controller

In this paper, modeling of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind energy conversion system (WECS) and speed controller are presented. The System Identification Toolbox MatLab is used to develop the linear model WECS by considering as input output. Two models, namely Auto Regressive with eXogenous Input (ARX) Auto-Regressive Moving Average (ARMAX), estimated. We ARX221 structure best fit 84.31%, Final Prediction Error (FPE) 0.0433 Mean Square (MSE) 0.0432. Ziegler-Nichols (Z-N) method fuzzy logic technique employed in proportional integral derivative (PID) design control generator. classical Z-N PID for responses observed be insufficient both uniform variable inputs, hence, a better response has been obtained applying logic-based controller. present study proves that enhances regulation overcoming effect varying speed.
